I love this idea that anticipation can become a memory just as meaningful as the thing you were waiting for. So much of life is spent believing we’re in the “before.” Before the trip. Before the promotion. Before the baby. Before retirement. Yet when we look back, those ordinary in-between seasons often become some of the most cherished chapters of our lives. That final thought really stayed with me: there is no waiting, only living. It’s a beautiful reminder that life isn’t something that begins after the next milestone. It’s already happening.
this resonates so deeply, a year and change postpartum with my second and almost a year since i moved from ca to the east coast! (we were in the peninsula just north of gilroy and drove through it often!) i like to thank 19 year old me for going for it, for working hard and saying yes ♡
This post reminded me of the days when I was younger, travelling in France and Europe for a year while I did my Masters. Sometimes I wish to go back in time just to feel it all again, but alas those are now memories. Life really does happen in the now, not “next time.”
This made me almost cry. I’m also in an interim place with myself. Learning to Fly is a song I also love — I have it on my playlist of songs I listened to throughout my Rhode Island trip two months ago. And hell yes — the pre-work jam!!! A vibe with music is a hell of a motivator 💯
The way you weave seemingly unrelated experiences from different phases of your life is uniquely yours, Anna. And it’s always profound and beautiful. ❤️ These next few weeks are a precious and unique time for you.

Relatable. I also studied in Florence for a year at 19 and also loved that song. And yes it takes me back.
Came from tiktok and could not have found this at a more perfect time!

Maybe there is no waiting. There is only living.
